Discover the art of slow living at Almières, a hidden gem in the French countryside whose name can be interpreted as “Light of the Soul.” Rejuvenate your mind, body, and spirit in the stunning Grands-Causses Mountains. Breathe in the fresh air, stroll through the golden grass, visit the healing waters of the Tarn River, and watch birds soar over the gorges. This magical land invites you to pause, receive its wisdom, and give reverence to the abundant beauty of the earth.
At Almières you’ll enter full retreat mode with a digital detox, enjoying morning and evening yoga, meditation, and breathwork sessions led by Christine Provine, as well as sound healing, Nordic baths, sauna, massage, and nourishing, balanced cuisine provided by a naturopathic chef.
Our exclusive accommodation is a small hamlet, an ancient sheep farm which has been lovingly restored with utmost respect for the environment, combining comfort, luxury, and simplicity in the midst of nature. Every corner of the hamlet has been thoughtfully curated and cared for by our hosts Marise and Monia who have poured their hearts into the place, making you feel deeply at home. With its seamless blend of ancient and modern resulting in timeless elegance, it’s no wonder that Almières inspires nature lovers, mindfulness practitioners, and architecture enthusiasts from around the globe. Nestled on the edge of a canyon in a national park with breathtaking views of the mountains, gorge, and river, each morning you’ll awaken in a spacious sunlit room, a large part of which is dedicated to a beautiful bathroom with a bathtub—a perfect spot for self-care.
You will have opportunities for local excursions, including a hike along the gorge, a private boat trip down the river, and a visit to what’s known as one of the most beautiful villages in France: Saint Enimie.
Each day we’ll take time to acknowledge the gifts provided by the land and people we visit, giving reverence to the healing nourishing gifts of our beloved planet. We’ll end our time together with a celebratory dinner before guests return home or to continue their journey on their own.
